I may not be a fan of going to places twice but since it has been a while that I've been to Singapore and my backpacker side is itching to see the "Jewel" fountain, I made it sure that everything is the right time this year.
With only 4 hours layover time, I would be racing time if I get out on the streets of Downtown Singapore. And the only thing I am thrilled of seeing is, the Vortex. I thought that I wouldn't go outside of the immigration since they said that the Jewel is in Changi Airport, but NO. It is basically a separate building with links from the airport. So I found my way to the immigration and all it takes is to present my negative CoVid PCR test before my departure from Dubai, Travel Details and Passport. No queues, no sweat and got my Visit Pass registered in a minute. The airport staff were kind enough to lead the way to Jewel and told that it opens at 0900H. I noticed some residents are presenting some codes to the guard but fortunately he didn't ask me and just went in and followed the direction to the fountain and it was not any other. It was a fountain wrapped in a botanical garden. Fortunately, only a few people are walking around and sometimes we couldn't see each other believing that it is indeed a well-thought of space. The mall must've just opened and saw some stalls and restaurants closed yet but it is still a good place to walk around. And since my boarding time is fast approaching, I needed to go back and find my way back again to Terminal 3 and grabbed some from Burger King before the flight.
