I think it will be a cliche' to start with, "How the pandemic affected us" or "Travelling in pandemic times".
It would seem apparent that travelers would definitely make a great adjustment to how the world is doing.
For somebody who is still witnessing the rise and fall of the cases first-hand, yes, I am still practicing as a nurse and I will not say more about the pandemic since I know there are a lot of articles about it. But one thing is significant, HAND HYGIENE and proper sanitation is the key. As what I have mentioned to everybody, I've been doing the same practices for a decade as a nurse and thank God that I haven't contracted the virus yet.
It's already 2021 and the last entry I wrote was about my INDOCHINA trip in 2019 before I came back to Dubai.
Another lucky move I may say. The pandemic made me realize heap of things that makes you value time and prioritize what you really want to do.
So here's how we enjoyed this pandemic.

STAYCATIONS 2020
Staycations aren't really my thing to begin with. But we have to cope with all the stresses this pandemic has caused us.
My proposed vacation leaves had turned to dust and left me nothing but online shopping and vacations.
I can definitely say that I spent more than what I used to. Something I know was impractical. Oftentimes I would think that it would be better to be quarantined than to wear PPEs everyday.
Below are some of the staycations spent in 2020.
1. Movenpick Jumeirah Beach
Mövenpick Jumeirah Beach is a chic and modern 5-star hotel in Jumeirah Beach Residence. Great Location and Facilities and accessible to tram and the beach.
I basically dragged my roomies to spend a staycation away from our studio and catch a breathe of fresh summer air beside the beach. Just an alibi of a stressful Covid Ward exposures. We were lucky enough to be upgraded in one of the highest rooms and a partial sea view with terrace.
2. Millennium Hotel Al Barsha
Millennium Al Barsha is located within walking distance from Mall of the Emirates and situated in the bustling area of Al Barsha. A 4-star hotel with good amenities and hearty breakfast served in the room.
My friend Emie, wasn't a fan of staycations but was convinced since we haven't been anywhere for a long time. Breakfast was served in the room in which we had fun on taking pictures with.
3. Amwaj Rotana Suites Jumeirah Beach
Ideally located along Dubai's famous leisure and retail strip known as “The Walk” in Jumeirah Beach Residence.
We celebrated Janice's, one of our colleagues surprise farewell party and it was one of the most comfortable staycations we have been to. Other than entering a parking lot and going to a different building after checking in, everything was well. The room is spacious and has everything you need for family and friends, cutlery included. It also has a terrace facing Marina View.
Nothing still beats the scenic views of the Philippine islands, not even the towering heights of these skyscrapers and luxurious hotels but this is the only thing I can do for now.

LA PERLE. AL SEEF. ICE RINK
La Perle by Dragone is a water-based show that combines gravity-defying acrobatics with spectacular water and special effects to tell a fantastical story. It brought the kid in us seeing play of colors and motions combined in great heights.
Firstly, I'd like to thank my friend Sharky/Grace for this opportunity to witness this show.
Honestly, I will opt to eat rather than watch this in Dubai. So thanks for the treat! Those death-defying stunts were amazing and definitely worth your buck.
Al Seef is a great blend of old and new on the creek front in Dubai Old Town. There is some retail and lots of good food and beverage options. Your eyes will be satisfied seeing the wall arts and local designs across the avenue.
It is one of my go-to spot if I have time after going to church. It is close to Gold Souq and the rest of the markets as well as the wharf if you want to experience riding an Abra. The structures give off a traditional Arabic vibe and a great spot for the 'gram.
The Dubai Ice Rink offers indoor ice skating and is one of the key leisure attractions at The Dubai Mall. Didn't imagine how being acquainted with Rollerblades will be helpful in Ice Skating. It can be a great experience and would definitely do it again with friends.
P.S. Stroll around DOWNTOWN Dubai for the latest infrastructures and 'gram-worthy spots.

DUBAI FESTIVAL CITY. NEW YEAR IN JBR. DESERT SAFARI 2021.
Jumeirah Beach Residences is the original luxury playground for families in Dubai, with beautiful sea views, world-class dining, a private beach and kids' club. I usually spend occasions at home but I was invited to celebrate in JBR and witnessed fireworks from MERAAS, ATLANTIS and BURJ AL ARAB. Now if that isn't lucky, what is?
Dubai Festival City has one creative team to perk up their place though being far from the main city. But nevertheless, people still swarm here.
Desert Safari is one of the most famous and affordable activities in UAE and it isn't just in one place. Obviously as operators vary, they will still offer the same activities in different locations.
